Hmmm, whatcha say. Those three words sup up not just the episode but the season. This second season was all about change and moving on from what we’ve lost. The second season finale reminded me of more like a movie. It was very dramatic and has many amazing shots. From the funeral scene to the last moment, everything was amazing.
I don’t know where to begin on this episode so I’ll start with the end. Marissa of course has problems but the character that we know has always had the potential to become dangerous. She shot her boyfriend’s brother! This was shocking and left me with a question. Did she want to? Did Marissa really want to risk killing Trey and losing everything for Ryan? It seemed like a real change from season one where she was willing to lose Ryan.
My favorite scene had to have been Caleb’s funeral. First off, the music behind the funeral by Imogen Heap was incredible and made me fall in love with electronic music. The funeral of course began with the line of black expensive German cars. (Which was a great touch) Then we finally saw Kirsten. The glasses were to big and she looked like a S.M.A.M. (Serious Meth Addicted Mother) Then we saw Jimmy…again. Seriously, is he staying or going?! He just pops out of no where and is like “I’M SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS” and then gets back with Julie!? Doesn’t Julie know he’s broke?!
Then there was Kirsten, who I am now officially scared of. She is not who has been portrayed as. We also though of Kirsten as the good mother who watched and cared after her sons. Now she’s…not. She’s an alcoholic. Which is never good. I can’t blame her but her character isn’t who it originally was. Which confuses me. Is she the old Kirsten or the new one? And-- what’s up with Julie? Is she okay? Does she know what she wants? DOES SHE KNOW ANYTHING?! Answer: no. All she knows is that she needs money. A lot of money.
So here we are at the end of season two, knowing there will be a season three. What is going to happen? How is it going to happen? Will Ryan and Marissa finally have sex? Will Kirsten fix herself? And Julie. Let me end at that. All I know is that with The OC you never know what’s going to happen.
