Editorial: The Groundhog Day

You can’’t win them all or can you? What I presume to be a fluff episode with glorified Che-Seth time turns out to be a warm, witty, and ultimately satisfying episode. It ties in superb humor, affectionate and inviting love and family moments, and above all a sense of balance. Sure, we still had glorified Che-Seth time, but I could barely notice its minimal negative impact with the overwhelming strength of the rest of episode. A bit strange to say when it included a stalking Taylor who ends up going furry in the name of love. It also included the mother of all good mother news. Kirsten discovers she is pregnant. The Cohen’s infinite rein as parents of the year will continue on, God willing, for another 20 plus years. Other highlights included the mail truck, Ryan and Taylor overcoming their hang-ups and a shrink [played by that woman who was on… *scratches head*…… Oh yeah, The John Larroquette show! And oh yeah, Friends. And oh yeah, I have no life. Moving on…]. And finally Che found sweet destiny and love with the real saver of the groundhog Newport Chuck, a woman. It was nice while Che lasted, but when the charming family connecting ending came I knew it was the time to weed out the guest stars and bring the focus back to the core characters. And for a glorious moment it seemed like that would be the case. Then came “The Case of the Franks”.
